A standard fire shutter has little to no insulation value. Our Fire Stopper Insulated fire shutters, however, have a twin skin lath construction and offer a 96% radiant heat reduction. This essentially means that our insulated fire shutter doors will provide an incredible 96% more protection from a radiant heat source than a single fire roller shutter. As a result of this, fire crews can get within 6 metres from the actual fire source.
Fire compartmentation is a hugely important part of passive fire protection and it is only achieved by dividing your premises into ‘fire compartments’. Unlike any other standard fire shutter, our ground-breaking range of Fire Stopper fire shutter doors allow you to do this with ease. The industrial version of this door is designed to stop fire from spreading up to 10 metres wide and 7 metres high. Alternatively, the commercial fire shutter, designed for offices and supermarkets, can stop fires that are 7 metres wide and 4 metres high.
Our Fire Stopper fire shutter doors can be operated in many different ways depending on the size of your doorway. Mechanical or powered operation is provided when the doorway exceeds 5.2m² or when the height of the barrel enclosure is 2.2 metres above floor level. Besides this, hand chain and hand chain wheel operation are also available.
